Included in this package we will deliver and install the heat pump and pool blanket including all pipework, fittings and labour to a flat surface within 3 metres from the existing pool equipment as long as pool pipes are to be surface mounted (no Excavations). What type of pool cover is included? - The pool cover included in this bundle is the Oasis 400 micron Solar Blanket 7.2 x 3.2m suits pools up to 7 x 3m (SB2310)
The ABGAL SB2310 7.2 x 3.2m solar pool cover is a great entry level pool blanket made by ABGAL Liners and Covers in Yatala Gold Coast and is suitable for small to medium swimming pools up to 7m x 3m swimming pools. These covers provide all the benefits of a thermal pool cover but are not as efficient at keeping the temperature in and usually don't last as long.
*Please note that the blanket supplied in this bundle is suitable for dimensions up to 7 x 3m Pools only. If one of your pool measurements exceed these dimensions but are still inside the pool volume guide lines pleasew contact us for custom blanket size pricing information *

Regardless of what cover you have you will dramatically increase the efficiency of your pools heat pump. Thermal pool blankets are insulated so they are more efficient at holding the temperature in the pool and are less susceptible to damage from the suns UV rays.

Does the pool blanket come with a roller? - There is no roller for the pool blanket included in this bundle. You can add a pool blanket roller to the package as an added extra.
Add a roller to suit this blanket for $680 Inc GST when purchased with this heater bundle. Hydrotools endurance reel mobile base 3.7-4.6m wide extendable 75mm Hex Tube suits pools up to 4.3m wide and 14m in length.
What does "season extender" mean? - The expression "season extender" is a simple term designed to explain the potential swimming season or period of time that a pool owner can expect the pool water to reach and maintain the desired pool tempreature. The term "season extender" in pool heating terms means a 9 month period from September to April.
What months are shoulder months? - The term "shoulder months" in pool heating terms means a 6 month period from October to March.
Why should I buy a heat pump instead of a gas pool heater?
Gas pool heaters have a far greater heat exchange efficiency than solar pool heating or pool heat pumps but a much larger fuel requirement at a higher cost to produce this heat. See our information on gas pool heaters for more details.
Do I need a pool cover with a heat pump?
The answer is usually always yes. Having your pool covered will:-

The term retrofit is commonly used in the Australian swimming pool industry refering to all types of pool equipment and spare parts. Put sipmply it means "the direct replacement of" the referred to product. It is common for pool owners who are looking online for a product or a cheaper / alternative price they will be on the lookout for either the exact same product or part or one that will directly retrofit the one that needs to be replaced.
All types of retrofit pool equipment including Pool Pumps, Salt Chlorinators and pool lights are commonly available online whether it is exacly the same or if it is of a different brand but is specifically designed to directly retrofit that particular make and model.
We commonly refer to retrofit products usually because the products are exacly the same but have another name and label (commonly referred to as white labelled products).
Where this is not the case some manufactures have made similar items that function in a similar way and are designed to replace without fuss (no plumbing changes, screw in screw) but aren't always the same manufacturer or quality as the original.
This however doesn't mean that the original product is better than the retrofit product, although in most cases they are. Below is a list of product which in our opinion and based on years of experience where the retrofit product is beter than the original.
Retrofit is a practice where a piece of pool equipment is replaced due to fault or failure with another prodeuct exacly the same or purpose built to fit with ease. The term generic replacement refers to a product that has been specifically manufactured to replace anothe product or part either to gain a part of the market share or to fill a gap wher the original no longer exists.
So a generic product is not the same but has been manufactured to fit a specific product or part where a retrofit product can be the exaclty the same as the original, a re-badged product that is the same or a manufactured generic procdut specifically designed to replace the original with a similar operational outcome.
